Booth Western Art Museum

We were able to get free tickets to the Museum for last Saturday and we
were pleasantly surprised with everything that was there.
The web site didn't give it justice at all.
Indian and cowboy sculptures and art work from around the US.
The picture below was Jake's favorite and it had two sculptures of the
picture below it.
Silas is the one that noticed that the sculptures were of the painting, so observant.
Me kissing a tall dark and handsome (actually it was just a huge head):)
Jake and I both got emotional touring the Civil War room.
You start on one side of the room and walk around to the other.
The paintings take you through the highs and lows of the Souths
fight for freedom.
Such amazing art you really felt like you were a part of what was going on, you were really there.
Silas asked lots of questions about war and the great men that were in the pictures.
Stonewall Jackson, Jeb Stewert and Robert E Lee..and many other great men.
Stonewall Jackson above and Robert E. Lee below.
We live in a great place to learn about US history first hand.
Silas said his favorite thing was the red horse.
They had a huge hands on area for the kids to play in.
This Bull was in one of the Western rooms and looks SO REAL!
Silas asked why on earth the put a ring in his nose.
The Indians below were made totally out of paper...such AMAZING and intricate work.
I just loved the colors in this..so calming.
I am doing so much better at getting the pictures right...this one did not want to cooperate.

Oh, how I envy you the ability to explore history. My genealogy has whetted such an appetite to know and appreciate what our forefathers went through. Your hair has grown out!!! Love it.
